Must-read before departure to avoid pitfalls
Fenglinxia and Qinglongxia are free with the Annual Pass, saving 120 yuan in tickets. For trips of 3 days or more, be sure to get an Annual Pass — best value for money.
Fenglinxia and Qinglongxia require a transfer to a scenic shuttle bus at the Yuntaishan Visitor Center, with a daily cap of 3,000 visitors. Book in advance during holidays.
The core Qingtianhe experience is by boat; the boat ticket (60 yuan, purchased separately and not included in the admission) is recommended to be bought as a combo ticket for better value.
The wild macaques at Shennongshan won't attack people but will snatch food. Never carry plastic bags or expose food, and keep your backpack zipped.
