Spring Highlights

Spring is the best season for hiking and sightseeing at Yuntaishan. The temperature is comfortable, springs are abundant, and waterfalls are spectacular. Wildflowers bloom across the scenic area, with peach, apricot, and forsythia blossoms opening in succession, filling the entire valley with fragrance.

Dressing Tips

Light spring clothing is recommended, with a thin jacket as the main outer layer. Temperatures vary greatly between morning and evening, so bring a light jacket or trench coat. Comfortable sneakers are recommended for hiking.

Summer Highlights

Summer is the busiest season for escaping the heat at Yuntaishan. The springs of Tanpu Gorge are refreshingly cool with gurgling streams, making it an ideal summer retreat. During the 2026 Summer Water Fun Season, teenagers under 18 nationwide and this year's gaokao (college entrance exam) graduates enjoy free admission. Although temperatures are high, the mountain stays pleasantly cool, making it the perfect escape from the city heat.

Summer Reminders

UV rays are strong in summer, so be sure to take sun protection measures (sunscreen, sun hat, and sunglasses are essential). Bring plenty of drinking water—at least 2 bottles per person. Thunderstorms are common, so carry an umbrella.

Autumn is the most beautiful season at Yuntaishan! Red leaves blaze across the mountains like glowing clouds, reflecting off the emerald pools to form a stunning landscape painting. This season is also a paradise for photography enthusiasts—every shot is a masterpiece.

Photography Tips

The best viewing period for red leaves is mid-October to early November. It is recommended to get up early to capture the sunrise and sea of clouds, and photograph the red leaves in soft light. Bring a telephoto lens to capture the layered red leaves on distant mountains.
